University Students, Professors to Attend Nat’l Quran Contest

Deputy of Quran and Etrat Research Center of Islamic Azad University announced that 320 students of the university will participate at the national stage of a Quran contest to be held by the university’s branch in Rasht, north of Iran.
Talking to IQNA, Abdul Majid Talebtash said that the center is to hold the final stage of the 18th edition of Quran and Etrat contest’s oral section this month.
320 students and 96 university lecturers selected from the preliminary stage of the contest will compete in Tarteel and Tahqeeq recitation and memorization of 5, 10, 20 and 30 Juzes (parts) of the Holy Quran.
This edition of the contest will be held on September 8 and 9 and its winners will be qualified to attend national Holy Quran festival.
The deputy added that members of the scientific board and all lecturers of the university can also compete in the above mentioned categories of the oral section as well as the written section of the contest.
The written section will include translation and interpretation of the Holy Quran, Nahjul Balaqa, Seerah of the infallibles (AS), English translation of the Holy Quran, Mahdism and memorization of one to five Juzes (parts) of the Quran.
He added that besides the students of this university, students of other universities and seminary schools of the country can participate at the competition.
