Mizar will be in charge of the council for three years. The Council of Religions is state-run institution whose activities are related to the situation of followers of different faiths in Switzerland.
Representatives from all religions and faiths are present in the council, which was founded by the Swiss government in 2006.
The council holds meetings to discuss different faith-related issues and use the influence of religious leaders to prevent tension in society.
