Head of the Majlis’ Quran, Etrat and Prayer Fraction urged that the new administration pay special attention to training 10 million memorizers of the Quran.
Addressing the opening ceremony of the 6th Divine Thoughts Conference in Mashhad on Monday, Dr Laleh Eftekhari referred to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s instructions about the need for training ten million memorizers of the Holy Quran in the country and said the new administration should pay special attention to the plan designed for realization of this objective.
She said a special budget has been allocated for this plan and urged the government to help all the institutes contributing to the plan.
Elsewhere in her remarks Ms Eftekhari highlighted the important role of mosques in all area, quoting the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khamenei as saying that mosques should work as fortresses against the cultural onslaughts (launched by the enemies).
“We should never forget that the enemies have been planning to defeat us in all areas and we can thwart their plots by planning,” she said.
The MP also stressed that mosques should be centers for learning the Quran as they were so in the early years after the advent of Islam.
She added that mosques should also have programs to foster the Seerah and teachings of the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).
