61 Countries to Attend Int’l Quran Contest in Saudi Arabia

The 35th edition of the international Quran competition of Saudi Arabia will be held with the participation of 150 representatives from 61 countries.
According to Al-Riyadh newspaper, the country's Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Dissemination and Guidance organizes the event.
Secretariat of the competition announced that this edition will be held from the 21st to the 28th day of the lunar month of Muharram (November 25- December 2) at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.
Mansour bin Mohammad Al-Samih, secretary general of the contest, said the contenders will be divided into various groups to compete in five categories of the contest.
He added that a training course on judgement in Quran competitions as well as a number of scientific sessions will be held on the sidelines of the competition.
Development of the rules and regulations for judgment in Quran contests, training judges and promotion of the quality of judgment in such contests are among the objectives of the course.
Some of the participating countries will send their representatives to attend the Quranic contest for the first time.
