It will replace the International Presidential ward for Islamic Studies that was granted during the reign of former dictator Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, IINA reported.
Tunisian prime minister said in a statement that the Committee for Organizing National Scientific Competitions will be tasked with determining the conditions of those considered for the award.
He said Tunisia’s International Islamic Studies Award is aimed at identifying and honoring cultural figures and characters from around the world who have introduced new research studies and made innovations in Islamic fields.
Those winning the first and second titles in the international Islamic studies award will receive 30,000 and 20,000 Tunisian Dinars, respectively.
