This is according to Hassan Talebi, director of the education department at the University of Quranic Sciences and Teachings.
Speaking to IQNA, he said while last year there were only 100 applicants for Quranic colleges, this year more than 1400 students were admitted to the colleges to study at B.A., M.A. and PhD levels.
He said they study in the fields of Quran interpretation, Quranic sciences, and Quranic teacher training (B.A.), Quran interpretation and Quranic sciences (M.A.) and comparative interpretation of the Quran (PhD).
Mr. Talebi noted that 18 Quranic colleges in the country have admitted this academic year that will start next week.
