Bahrain’s Shia Scholars Council Selects Slogan for New Hijri Year
The Islamic Council of Shia Scholars in Bahrain has selected the slogan of “Social Solidarity, A Religious Duty” as the slogan for the new Hijri lunar year.
Issuing a statement, it said the council has chosen the slogan in order for promoting solidarity among all Islamic, social, religious, educational and media centers in the new year.
The council urged all members of the society, especially the scholars, thinkers and elites to uphold solidarity and raise awareness among the public.
In a spate statement, the council described summoning members of its central board to court as a religious attack launched by the ruling regime and its media outlets.
The administrative court of Bahrain on Monday summoned 7 members of the central board of the Shia Scholars Islamic Council.
In another move by the authorities, the country’s justice ministry has called for dissolving the council and confiscating its assets.
