The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) will organize the international Conference on Promoting Dialogue among Cultures and Religions, the organization’s website reported.
ISESCO Director General Abdualziz Othman Altwaijri will take a trip to Fez to participate in the international event, which will be underway from September 30 to October 2.
The Organisation International de la Francophonie (OIF) has cooperated in organizing the conference, which will be attended by prominent political, cultural, religious and scientific figures.
The participants will discuss the progress achieved by efforts made to promote dialogue among cultures and religions in light of the developments in international relations particularly in North Africa.
The ISESCO director general will address the conference’s opening session, which will be presided by Morocco’s King Mohammed VI.
Director General of the OIF Abdou Diof, High Representative of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAoC) Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser, and Director of UNESCO’s Intersectoral Platform for a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence Katérina Stenou will be among the participants.
On the sidelines of the conference, a workshop will be held on the role of the media in promoting dialogue among cultures and faiths.
