The Supreme Leader’s Representative Office in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs will hold international conferences during the Hajj season.
Head of the office Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Ali Qaziaskar told IQNA that the holy city of Quds, proximity among Islamic schools of thought and the status of women in Islam will be among the themes to be discussed in the planned conferences.
He said the office has held such conferences during the past years with the participation of scholars and elites from different Muslim countries.
Hojat-ol-Islam Qaziaskar said the issue of Quds will be one of the themes of this year’s conferences, adding that Quds is a major international issue for the Muslim world.
He said proximity among Islamic schools of thought is discussed in a conference during Hajj every year and that Saudi Arabia, which has recently promoted the idea of dialogue among religions and faiths, can take part in this conference.
“Our aim is to uphold Muslim unity and we never seek to foment discord during Hajj,” the senior cleric underlined.
