A terrorist attack in the Sayyidah Zeynab area in a suburb of Damascus, Syria, led to the martyrdom of Sayid Farhan Hassan al-Mansour on Friday.
The preacher of the shrine of Hazrat Zeynab (SA) was injured in the explosion and later succumbed to his injuries.
The Syrian interior minister said the assassination was carried out with the aim of inciting sedition and disrupting the stability of the country, Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed reported.
With great care and attention, the ministry is following the organized attempts in recent days to destabilize security and social peace, it said in a statement.
The targeting and death of Farhan Hassan al-Mansour, due to a bomb explosion in his private car, is part of a dangerous and tense path to target religious and social figures, and these crimes will undoubtedly not go unpunished, and the competent institutions have begun their investigations to clarify the dimensions of the incident and identify its perpetrators, it added.
The Syrian Al-Ikhbariya network, referring to the assassination, said security forces immediately surrounded the area and began extensive investigations to identify the possible perpetrators and discover the exact details of the incident.
