The Quran and Quranic Sciences Waqf Fund affiliated to Kuwait’s Awqaf Secretariat organizes the event, Al-Qabs daily reported.
The competition is held in the categories of memorization and Tajweed recitation of the Holy Quran for two age groups: one for teenagers and youth, and the other without age limits.
Musaed Al-Rakhis, the coordinator of the competition, said the Kuwaiti society has warmly received the contest as 2640 boys and girls took part in the first stage, 1761 of whom made it to the final stage.
He said the final stage will kick off on Monday, September 30, and will continue for three days.
Kuwait’s Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Minister Sharida Abdullah Al-Mousharji will take part at the opening ceremony at Al-Dawla Grand Mosque in the capital city.
