In a ceremony held Sunday, September 29, IQNA’s Jihad and Epic Desk was officially inaugurated.
The ceremony was held on the occasion of the Holy Defense Week with the participation of General Seyyed Mohammad Baqerzadeh, commander of the Armed Forces Headquarters’ search committee for those lost during the Holy Defense, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Mehdi Taqavi, managing director of IQNA, and a number of war veterans, families of martyrs and Holy Defense researchers.
Addressing the event, Hojat-ol-Islam Taqavi said the Jihad and Epic Desk of the news agency tries to promote Jihad and epic in a year named by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution as the Year of Political and Economic Epic.
He said epics originate from beliefs and from the depth of one’s heart and mind that if something diverts one’s attention from ideological and belief roots, creating an epic would be difficult.
Hojat-ol-Islam Taqavi said the IQNA’s Jihad and Epic Desk would seek to prevent such negligence, adding that Basirat (insight) is achievable through having a spirit of Jihad and epic.
The news agency’s Jihad and Epic Desk had started its pilot activity late June with the aim of promoting the culture of the Holy Defense, reviving the memory of the martyrs, and reflecting the realities of the Holy Defense era.
