Best Imam of Mosque in 2013 Selected in Uzbekistan

The final stage of a contest titled “the best imam of mosque in 2013” was held by the Office for Muslims’ Affairs and Uzbekistan’s Committee for Religious Affairs in Tashkent, the capital.
According to IQNA’s branch in Central Asia, the office announced that top participants of the regional stage of the contest competed in various categories of the final stage on September 29.
Religious and Quranic sciences, religious speech skills, presentation of sermons, involvement in mass media, etc. were among the categories of the competition.
The sixth edition of the contest was supervised by a committee of religious and Quran experts of the country who announced the best imams of mosques of the year.
Mohammadi Irgishov, imam and preacher of Imam A’zam Grand Mosque, succeeded to get 301 grades and was selected as the top participant of the contest.
The second winner of the contest was Abdul Rahman Mohammad Safayev, imam and preacher of the Grand Mosque in Karakalpakstan autonomous republic of Uzbekistan, who got 300 grades.
Sanjar Beik Mohammad Nazarov, imam of the Grand Mosque in Andijan Province, and Alam Khwan Yusufov, imam and preacher of the Grand Mosque in Samarkand Province, were the third winners with 295 and 289 grades respectively.
