Masoud Akhavan, director general of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization’s Atabat Department told IQNA that this round of sending pilgrims will continue until December 13.
He also noted that some 20000 Iranian pilgrims will be in the holy city of Karbala on the Day of Arafa (October 15).
Akhavan advised people planning to go to Atabat not to refer to offices that are not run by the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization.
He urged them to register for the pilgrimage trip only with agencies that have permission from the organization.
The official said all the border points with Iraq through which pilgrims travel to Iraq’s holy sites are open and there is no problem for their travel through these areas.
