30% Rise in No of Those Taking Nat’l Quran Memorization & Concepts Exam

The number of participants in the 12th Quran Memorization and Concepts National Examination is 30 percent higher compared to the previous edition of the exam.
This was announced by Culture Ministry’s Quran and Etrat Deputy Hojat-ol-Islam Hamid Mohammadi on Monday, October 7.
He said the national examination’s 12th edition will be held on Friday, October 11, in 300 cities across the country, adding that 75,000 individuals will take the examination.
The cleric noted that the examination is held in 23 different categories including thematic memorization, Islamic ethics, Islamic beliefs, Quranic concepts, Quran transaltion and Islamic injunctions.
According to Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammadi, most of the participants, around 83 percent, are women, and that the provinces of Khorasan Razavi, Isfahana and Kerman have the highest number of participants respectively.
He said the examination aims to assess the educational performance of Quran and Etrat Cultural Institutes and also identify Quranic talents.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Quran and Etrat deputy pointed to the allocation of Umrah Hajj quota to top Quranic figures and said efforts are underway to come to agreements about the quota.
