Takfir Phenomenon Aimed at Serving Zionist Regime Interests
The phenomenon of Takfir spread with the emergence of the Zionist regime in the Middle East, deputy Mufti of Syria said.
Speaking in an interview with IQNA, Sheikh Alaeddin Za'tari added that Takfiri preachers at that time intended to create instability around the occupied lands to secure the interests of the Zionist regime.
Secretary of Fatwa Department in Syria’s Awqaf Ministry said Takfir is spread by those who are deviated and deviate societies.
He noted that if the roots of Takfir are investigated, they can be traced back to the British who have always been an enemy of Muslims.
“During the US invasion and occupation of Iraq in 2003, Takfir spread to this part of the Muslim world. The US destroyed Iraq and fomented discord among Shia and Sunni Muslims.”
Sheikh Za'tari regretted that for many years a large number of Muslims have become victims to extremist actions committed by the Takfiris.
“Takfiri preachers kill those who do not agree with their baseless beliefs; beliefs that have no origins in the religion and are founded on falsity.”
He said Takfiris attempt to separate people from true Islam by spreading their false ideology and promoting un-Islamic slogans.
The Syrian scholar said the Takfir current is the main reason why Islam is being misrepresented in the West. “Western countries exploit this phenomenon to tell the world public opinion that Muslims are a group of people who kill each other. (By focusing on what Takfiris do), they claim that Islam is a religion of killing, violence and terrorism.”
He said Takfiris aere the biggest obstacle against the spread of Islam and the introduction of true Islam in other countries.
He underlined that by acting upon the true teachings of Islam, Muslims can show the real Islam to the world and tell everyone that what Takfiris do and promote is not true Islam.
Sheikh Za'tari called for steadfastness in promoting the teachings of true Muhammadan Islam to confront Takfir in the world and said introducing the advances and progresses made in the Muslim world can enlighten the public opinion about the fact that Takfiris are a deviated group.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the deputy Mufti of Syria said the Islamic Revolution of Iran has managed to confront the Zionist regime that spreads Takfiri ideology and to foil attempts by the occupying regime to tarnish the image of Islam.
