Larijani made the remark in a meeting with his Lebanese counterpart Nabih Berri adding that it is necessary to stop foreign meddling in the affairs of the Middle East in order to maintain and spread security in the region.
The meeting took place on Tuesday, October 8, in Geneva, Switzerland, on the sidelines of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Conference.
Representative of Qom in the Majlis further condemned terrorist attacks in the region and said Iran and Lebanon are against any support for terrorism and terrorist activities in Syria.
Larijani also highlighted the brotherly relations between Iran and Lebanon and said the two nations have close historical and cultural ties.
Berri, for his part, called for expansion of ties between Tehran and Beirut and said underlined Iran’s influential role in the region.
He also urged that resolving regional and security issues, especially the issue of Palestine should be a priority of the countries in the region.
