Head of the Dar-ol-Quran Organization said it has paid special attention to the issue of Quranic education since its establishment.
Mehdi Qarasheikhlu made the remark during a visit to the organization by the officials and managers of IQNA and the Iranian Academics Quranic Activities Organization on Tuesday, October 8.
He said the Dar-ol-Quran Organization has the second largest education network in the country after the education ministry.
“So far, more than 70,000 certificates have been issued for those taking the Quran teachers training courses held by the organization,” he stated.
Qarasheikhlu noted that the Quranic education network of the organization begins in Tehran and spreads to many of the villages across the country.
He pointed to the establishment of grassroots Quranic institutes since 2004 and said the organization has so far registered 1400 such institutes.
Pointing to the Dar-ol-Quran’s other missions and activities, the official said that 26 years ago it was given the task of monitoring and supervising the printing of the Holy Quran.
He underlined that with the efforts made by the organization experts, the Quran copies printed and published in the country have no misprints.
According to Qarasheikhlu, granting certificates to memorizers of the Quran is another activity of the organization. He said the 8th national examination for granting specialized memorization degrees to Quran memorizers is underway.
He noted that so far around 28000 memorizers have taken the examination, 75 percent of whom were women and 25 percent men.
Qarasheikhlu went on to say that the Dar-ol-Quran Organization plans to develop its research activities to fill the gaps in the field of Quranic research.
