Malaysia to Strengthen Position of Islam
Malaysia will remain steadfast in strengthening the position of Islam, the country’ Prime Minister Najib Razak said.
In his Eid message posted on the 1Malaysia website yesterday, the Prime Minister said the Government would continue to drive the country towards attaining its visions based on syariah or maqasid syariah objectives.
He said this would be in line with his administration’s transformation programmes.
Taking into account how the management of Malaysia’s hajj pilgrims is cited as the model recognized throughout the Muslim world, Najib said Malaysia would strive to emerge as a good example of a high-income, progressive and developed Muslim country.
He also sent well-wishes to those who are performing their hajj in Mecca, including some 28,000 Malaysians.
