Strasbourg University Becomes Global Reference in Teaching Islamic Finance

The University of Strasbourg in France has become an international reference in the field of instruction of Islamic finance.
The university’s faculty of law has been training Islamic finance experts since 2008 and with five years of experience has become a major hub of Islamic finance instruction, dna website reported.
Every year many individuals come to the university from countries like Morocco, Algeria, Senegal and Chad to take special courses on Islamic economics.
The faculty also publishes the Islamic Economics Magazine in French, sends Islamic finance experts to different countries and issues certificates in Islamic economics.
Michael Storck, dean of the Faculty of law, says new courses on Islamic finance are planned to be organized, adding that the students have received the courses very well.
He added that the faculty has established cooperation with Muslim countries like Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
There are around 6 million Muslims living in France, making it home to the largest Muslim minority population in Western Europe.
