Muslim States’ Health Ministers Convene in Indonesia

The 4th Meeting of the Muslim countries’ health ministers started in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta.
The meeting of OIC member states’ ministers of health began on Monday, October 21, and will continue until Wednesday, October 23, fr.alakhbar website reported.
The participants in the three-day event will discuss ways for confronting contagious diseases and devising policies for prevention of incurable diseases.
The ministers are also scheduled to adopt the 6-year prospective document for strengthening health institutions in the years 2104-2020.
On agenda will also be investigating reports about the activities of different Muslim countries in the field of health and medicine.
The Conference will provide an opportunity for the Ministers and representatives of the member states of the OIC to review the status of health in member states, examine major health-related issues and identify concrete measures for strengthening cooperation among the OIC member countries with regard to health infrastructures, education, training, capacity building, disease surveillance, prevention and control as well as self-reliance in drugs and vaccine production during their discussions in seven panels which will involve international experts in the concerned fields.
