A “revolution museum’ was inaugurated in a ceremony on Saturday, October 26.
The ceremony was held at the headquarters of Bahrain’s Al-Wefaq Society, Sawt Al-manama website reported.
Addressing the ceremony, secretary general of the society Sheikh Ali Salman said the revolution of Bahrain will continue until creation of a homeland that includes all Bahrainis without prejudices and regardless of race.
Sheikh Ali Salman praised the establishment of the museum and said it was opened despite many limitations.
He noted that 30 works that document the torturing of Bahrain’s revolutionaries (by the al Khalifa regime) are on display at the museum.
The revolution of Bahrain began in February 2011. Since then, thousands of pro-democracy protesters have staged numerous demonstrations in the streets of Bahrain, calling for the Al Khalifa royal family to relinquish power.
Despite the foreign-backed clampdown, the Bahraini regime has failed to stop the demonstrations that continue on an almost daily basis.
