Egypt’s prime minister said his country’s relations with Iran would be in the interest of the Persian Gulf Arab states.
Speaking in a press conference in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, October 27, Hazem el-Beblawi added that any improvement in Tehran-Cairo ties would benefit Arab countries.
He also said the security of the Persian Gulf region is part of the security of Egypt and that Cairo will not allow the security of Persian Gulf countries to be jeopardized.
El-Beblawi further referred to the Egyptian opposition group Muslim Brotherhood and said the group is supported by foreigners.
He said Muslim Brotherhood is responsible for the chaos and disorder in Egypt’s universities, adding that the government can ban demonstrations but refuses to do so.
“The Muslim Brotherhood seeks to see the defeat of Egypt’s government in economic terms so that people get frustrated with the government,” he went on to say.
