Speaking to Kuwaiti daily al-Ray, he also said that calling for the return of Islamic caliphdom is invalid and that such a call has nothing to do with true Islam.
He underlined that those like ISIL and al-Qaeda who hold Takfiri ideology seek sectarian discord and sedition.
Guma added that such groups know nothing about the true Islam and the Fiqh (jurisprudence) and Sharia.
“These groups have tarnished the image of Islam in the world, “he said, noting that these Takfiri groups implement the enemies’ agendas.
In recent months, Takfiri groups such as ISIL have carried out horrific acts of violence, including public decapitations, against Shias, Sunnis, Kurds and Christians in countries like Syria, Iraq and Lebanon.
