Winners of Zamfara Quran Competition Awarded

TEHRAN (IQNA) - Faisal Muhammad Awwal from Shinkafi Local Government Area has emerged the overall winner of the 18th edition of the Zamfara State’s Quran recitation competition in Nigeria.

 The competition also saw Mallama Amina Muhammad from Talatan Mafara Local Government Area emerge the winner in the female category, the Tribune reported.

The week-long event attracted 300 participants who competed in six categories.

Decorating the winner, the Emir of Anka, Alhaji Attahiru Muhammad, said Muhammad Awwal scored 98.41 points to clinch the victory.

Mallama Amina Muhammad scored 86.5 points to become the winner in the female category.

In his remarks, the state governor, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari, charged the participants to make the most of what they learned during the competition.

The governor charged the Muslim Ummah to fear God in whatever they do and cultivate the habit of reading the Quran.
