TEHRAN (IQNA) - For over 20,000 Muslim visitors, speakers on the second day of Reviving Islamic Spirit convention in Toronto urged them to reconnect with their religious sources to bring about personal and communal change and to engage in service to humanity.

Speaking on the topic, ‘Cling Together to the Rope of Allah: Holding on to the Quran in These Latter Days’, Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan told the audience, “Like rain comes down from the sky, revelation comes down from the sky. Like rain gives life to the earth, revelation gives life to the heart.”

“Allow the word of Allah to enter your heart and amazing things will happen," he continued.
"We need a renaissance - life will sprout again if we make pondering upon the word of Allah accessible."
Nouman Ali Khan, the founder and CEO of Bayyinah, serves as a lead instructor for several traveling seminars.
He brought his unique style of explaining the Quranic message to a session later in the evening that resonated with the youthful crowd, many of whom gave him a standing ovation following his talk.
"Your parents force you to go to college, I'm forcing you to study Islam, so you will bring the two together," Nouman Khan challenged to youths in the audience. "Go into any field with one thing is mind - service. Service to our Ummah, our world, and our Creator."
A major highlight of the second day’s program was an address by Shaykh Abdallah Bin Bayyah on the topic, ‘Fiqh of Reality: When Fiqh Meets Fact, How Do We Act?’
"In our approaches to removing injustices, we should not create further injustices,” said Shaykh Abdallah Bin Bayyah.
“To the youth - learn your religion because sometimes you think you are doing good but then you end up doing harm.” “I want to see young people flourishing, and on a path of benefit, rather than a path of destruction and despair,” noted Shaykh Abdallah bin Bayyah.
The RIS has emerged as a major platform for some of the leading Muslim personalities from around the world to address one of the largest assemblies of Muslims in the western hemisphere.
The Islamic Spirit convention was first launched in 2003 by Muslim youth to tackle the backlash on Islam and Muslims after the 9/11 and to build a bridge of understanding with non-Muslims.
The Convention, themed  ‘He Came to Teach You Your Religion – Prophetic Answers to Angelic Questions’, is set to conclude on Sunday evening.
