Muslims More Insightful Than Ever

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iran’s Parliament Speaker said the developments in the past three decades show that the Muslim Ummah has more insight and better understanding of the day’s conditions than before.

Ali Larijani made the remark in an address to the closing ceremony of the 28th International Islamic Unity Conference on Friday night, adding that the presence of thinkers and scholars in various fields in the Islamic Ummah is more prominent than before.
He said these conditions have helped Muslim societies make great achievements in different areas.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Larijani referred to the issue of extremism and said the roots of extremism should be addressed and supports provided for extremist groups by Western countries and some regional states should end.
The international conference kicked off in Tehran on Wednesday. The theme of the event was “United Muslim Ummah: Challenges and Strategies”.
Hundreds of Sunni and Shia scholars and intellectuals from more than 60 countries took part in the three-day conference to discuss ways to promote unity and solidarity in the Muslim world.
