The visit came ahead of the Ten-day Dawn Celebrations that mark the anniversary of the victory of Iran’s Islamic Revolution.
Ayatollah Khamenei recited Surat Al-Fatiha (the first Surah of the Holy Quran) and paid tribute to Imam Khomeini (RA).
The Supreme Leader also paid homage to the martyrs of the 1979 Islamic Revolution and the Sacred Defense (1980-1988 Iraqi imposed war on Iran).
The day when Imam Khomeini returned to Tehran in 1979 marks the start of 10 days of celebrations better known as the 10-Day Dawn festivities, which culminate in nationwide rallies on February 11, the anniversary of the triumph of the Islamic Revolution.
During the 10-Day Dawn festivities, Iranians take part in different events and activities to mark the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
The Islamic Revolution, spearheaded by the late Imam Khomeini, established a new political system based on Islamic values and democracy.
