TEHRAN (IQNA) – Thousands of people took to the streets in the Pakistani port city of Karachi on Saturday to denounce the recent attack on a Shai mosque in the country.

They voiced their anger at the terrorist bombing in a mosque in Shikarpur city, in Pakistan's southern Sindh province and called for the perpetrators to be brought to justice.
The protesters also called on the government to take steps to guarantee safety for the country’s Shias against threats by terrorist groups.
An explosion at a Shia mosque in Shikarpur on Friday killed nearly 60 people and left dozens more wounded.
The explosion occurred just before Friday prayers were due to begin, as a crowd was gathered outside the mosque, Al Jazeera reported.
Friday's explosionwas the second attack on a Shia mosque since Pakistani security forces stepped up operations against the Pakistani Taliban and its allies following a December attack on a Peshawar school.
In a previous attack, seven people were killed when a Shia mosque in the city of Rawalpindi was targeted in a suicide bombing on January 10.
