55 Countries to Attend Kuwait Int’l Quran Contest

TEHRAN (IQNA) – More than 55 countries will participate in the 6th edition of the international Quran memorization, recitation and Tajweed competition in Kuwait.

 Adel Abdullah Al-Fallah, an official with Kuwait’s ministry of Awqaf made the remark in a press conference held on March 15 at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Kuwait City.

According to Alaan website, the conference was attended by Sa’ad Al-Hajji, head of the organizing committee of the competition and representative of Kuwait’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Ahmad Al-Taweel, deputy of the committee and director of Quranic affairs, Ya’qub Muhammad Al-Ahmad, head of the advertisement committee and some of the figures involved in the organization of the competition.
Sa’ad Al-Hajji said that new criteria have been set for assessing the quality of the upcoming edition of the Quranic event.
He added that the performance of organizers of the event and the competition’s effects at the national level will be among major factors in the assessment.
Head of the advertisement committee of this edition of the competition noted that 10 Quranic workshops and forums on Quranic sciences will be organized on the sidelines of the competition.
The 6th edition of Kuwait International Holy Quran Award will be held from March 30 to April 7.
