According to IQNA’s branch in Africa, the Iranian Cultural Center in Ethiopia has introduced the Quran memorizer as Ethiopia's representative in this edition of the competition.
He will compete in the category of memorization of the entire Quran.
Abdul-Mannan Omar represented his country in Egypt’s International Quran Award in 1996.
The Quran activist was a member of the jury panel in three editions of the Quran competition annually held by the Iranian Cultural Center in Ethiopia.
Iran’s 32nd international Quran competition will take place in the capital Tehran on May 15-23.
The international Quranic event is annually held by Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization with the participation of representatives from various Muslim and non-Muslim countries.
