The Nahj-ul-Balaqa Studies Department affiliated to Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Office of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Ali (AS) holy shrine is working on the encyclopedia, the website of the Astan reported.
It said the collection will cover studies on the scientific and intellectual aspects of the Nahj-ul-Balaqa including linguistic, philosophical, jurisprudential, doctrinal and historical discussions.
Sheikh Ali Al-Shokri, head of the department, said the experts of the department have done scholarly research on the sermons and aphorisms in the Nahj-ul-Balaqa.
Sheikh Ibrahim Al-‘Ibadi, one of the experts with the department, said that syntactic, rhetorical and stylistic features of all of the sermons have also been studied in the project.
The encyclopedia will serve as a useful scholarly source for researchers and those interested in studies of the Nahj-ul-Balaqa.
The Nahj-ul-Balaqa is a collection of sermons, precepts, prayers, epistles and aphorisms of Imam Ali (AS) compiled by al-Sayyid al-Sharif al-Radi about one thousand years ago.
