Turkey Invites Iran to Int’l Quran Contest

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Turkey has sent a formal letter to Iran, inviting the Islamic Republic to participate in the country’s international Quran competition.

The competition is slated to take place in Istanbul from Sunday, July 5 to Saturday, July 11.

Abuzar Karami and Habib Sedaqat will represent Iran in the international Quranic event.

Karami will compete in the category of memorization of the entire Quran while Sedaqat will vie for the top prize in the recitation category.

Karami won the first title in the 4th International Quran Competition for Muslim Students, held in the northwestern city of Tabriz, Iran, in 2012.

Sedaqat is among top Quran reciters of Tehran province.
