According to Palestine news agency, the Quranic event will be financially supported by “My Car” Institute of Malaysia.
Isma’il ‘Amir, director of the public relations office of the Dar-ol-Quran said that the competition will be held in five categories including memorization of the entire Quran with Telawah (reading), observation of Tajweed principles and meaning of Quranic terms, memorization of 20 Juzes (parts) with Telawah, Tajweed and Tafseer (interpretation) of Quranic terms, and memorization of 15, 10 and 5 Juzes with Telawah and Tajweed.
The last category, memorization of 5 Juzes with Telawah and Tajweed, has been planned for those under the age of 15.
The preliminary stage of the competition will be held on June 13 and top participants will compete in the final stage in the holy month of Ramadan.
Mahmoud Khas, director general of the Dar-ol-Quran and Sunnah invited all Quran memorizers of the region to participate in the competition.
