Mehdi Daqaqele noted that every year, a large number of Quran reciters and memorizers from around the world come to the Islamic Republic to attend Iran’s international Quran competition.
This creates a great potential to nullify the enemies’ propaganda against Iran and Shia Islam, he said in an interview with Fars news agency.
The Quran master added that many of those attending the competition in the past years have been surprised to see for themselves that Iran is a successful Islamic country and that the negative portrayal of the country by the enemies is baseless.
Iran’s 32nd international Quran competition will take place in the capital Tehran on May 15-23.
It will start on the occasion of Mab’ath (marking anniversary of the day when Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) was ordered by Allah to declare his Prophethood to the world) and will run for a week.
The international Quranic event is annually held by Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization with the participation of representatives from various Muslim and non-Muslim countries.
