TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Friday prayers leader of Sana’a, capital of Yemen, criticized the silence of Arabs, Muslims and others in the world over the atrocities committed against Yemenis by the Saudi-led coalition.

Addressing worshipers at a mosque in Sana’a on Friday, he regretted that the Saudi aggression has continued for over 70 days and Muslim countries and scholars still remain silent over the crimes committed by the Saudi-led coalition.

He also warned the aggressors that they will face terrible consequences, IRIB news reported.

The Friday prayers leader went on to say that the Yemeni people will defeat the invaders through their unity and solidarity.

Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies on March 26 began to militarily interfere in Yemen's internal affairs by launching deadly air strikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

The coalition announced on April 21 that its military operation "Decisive Storm" has ended, but hours later, air strikes and ground fighting resumed.

According to Yemen's Freedom House Foundation, the Saudi airstrikes have claimed the lives of nearly 4,000 Yemeni people so far while more than 7,000 others have been wounded, most of them civilians.
