The event will give residents and visitors from around the world the opportunity to experience the Holy Month of Ramadan through several cultural, community and family-oriented events based on Islamic values, tradition and culture, KTimes reported.
With Dubai being home to people from different cultural backgrounds and faiths, Ramadan in Dubai is also an opportunity to promote cross-cultural understanding, and enlighten people from non-Muslim communities on the Islamic faith and provide valuable insights into this month of reflection and self-restraint. Further, Ramadan in Dubai has also galvanized Dubai’s retail sector into coming up with a number of special offers, deals and discounts aimed at capturing the attention of Ramadan shoppers.
Announcing the calendar of events of Ramadan in Dubai 2015, Laila Mohammed Suhail, Chief Executive Officer of the DFRE, said: “As all our festivals, special occasions and celebrations are designed with the aim of reaching out to all communities and people of all cultural backgrounds, we have focused on ensuring that as wide an audience as possible, both residents and visitors, get to experience Ramadan in Dubai offerings such as the Dubai International Holy Quran Award, Dubai Ramadan Forum, Ramadan Tents and the Ramadan Night Market.”
