Muslim Reverts Register for Quran Competition in Qatar

TEHRAN (IQNA) – 183 new Muslim reverts residing in Qatar registered for the Persian Gulf country’s national Quran competition.


According to Al-Raya newspaper, the group includes 141 men and 42 women of different nationalities who will compete in memorization and Tarteel recitation of short Surahs (chapters) of the Holy Quran.



The organizing committee of the national Quranic event announced that compared with the two previous editions of the competition, 77 more new Muslims have registered this year.



Getting the new Muslims more acquainted with the Divine Book and encouraging them to contemplate the Quranic concepts are the main objectives of the competition.



The national Quranic program also aims to establish Quranic and Islamic values and disseminate Quranic teachings among this group of residents and stress the importance of the teachings in Muslims’ lives.



The competition will also include a category for children for which 1500 ones have registered.
