Discord, Muslim World’s Main Problem

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST) referred to discord and disunity as the main problem facing the Muslim world.

Addressing the fifth international conference on strategic perspective of Russia and Muslim World relations, Ayatollah Mohsen Araki added that based on the verses of the Holy Quran and the teachings of the Infallible (AS), unity and avoiding differences is the solution to this problem.


He said the plots hatched by the enemies of Islam are behind the recent crises in the region, especially the spread of extremism and terrorism, stressing that every effort should be made to stop atrocities committed in countries like Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Afghanistan.


Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Araki referred to the WFPIST plans and objectives, saying that it strives to enhance unity and solidarity in the Muslim Ummah.


The fifth international conference on strategic perspective of Russia and Muslim World relations began in Moscow on Thursday.


Representatives of 27 countries, including Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Algeria, Afghanistan, Egypt, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Iraq, Albania, Qatar and Turkey, are present in the conference.
