TEHRAN (IQNA) – Ignoring the world’s 1.6 Billion Muslims’ feelings, Jerry Delemus, a Rochester man, is planning a contest desecrating the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH).

He wants people to draw Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), which is considered sacrilegious by all Muslims.

Delemus is planning to hold the contest in late August.

Delemus is a 60-year-old former Marine. The news of the contest comes just weeks after two gunmen were killed, and a security guard injured, outside of a similar contest in Garland, Texas.

Delemus says he won’t allow offensive drawings of the Prophet (PBUH), whereas the very depicting of the Holy Prophet is an act of desecration.
He claims the US Constitution gives him the right to offend.

Rochester police Capt. Gary Bordeau says if an event would take place in Rochester, authorities would take reasonable precautions and address concerns.

Recently, a group called the American Freedom Defense Initiative hosted an exhibit and a contest related to depictions of the Prophet (PBUH).

The event set for the Garland School District’s Culwell Center – the same place that hosted an event called “Stand With the Prophet.”

CAIR, a Muslim advocacy group says “we should ignore the event”. Ignoring it is exactly the right thing to do and attention is just what they seek.
