TEHRAN (IQNA) – On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, a Ramadan fair selling handicrafts, clothing, food, etc. has been underway in Ramallah, Palestine since June 14.

According to the International Islamic News Agency (IINA), Al-Birah Park of the city is hosting the event for three days.

Palestinian products have been presented at 40 pavilions representing different companies and factories of the country.

The main objective of the program is to introduce Palestinian national products and develop trade in this region.

Jawad Naji Hirzallah, Palestinian Authority Prime Minister's Advisor for Arab and Islamic Fund affairs, said that the higher quality and the lower prices of the goods presented in the fair highlights the role of national products in the Palestinian economy.

He stressed that more planning is needed to increase national production based on the international standards in order to limit Israeli products in Palestinian markets.

Sa’d Abdul Hadi, director of Al-Nashir Institute which has organized the fair, said that the program has provided a good opportunity for Palestinian people who are looking for high-quality goods with a better price than expected.

Ramadan is the 9th month in the Islamic lunar calendar. In this month, Muslims fast, that is abstain from food and drink, between sunrise and sunset.
