Quran Memorization and Tajweed Competition Underway in Morocco

TEHRAN (IQNA) - The final stage of the national competition on Quran memorization and Tajweed principles in Morocco has been underway since July 2 in Rabat.


According to al-Alam news network, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs of Morocco has organized the competition on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.



 



The final stage of the event is underway with 146 participants, including 34 women and children and top Quran reciters and memorizers from different provinces of the country.



 



Muhammad Al-Ziani, director of the judging board of this stage of the competition said that helping teenagers and the youth of the country to have a deeper connection to the Divine Book and encouraging them to learn Quran reading and memorizing as well as contemplating the Quranic concepts are the main objectives of the competition.



 



Three committees of Moroccan Quran experts supervise the final stage.



 



The contestants' Quran recitations are evaluated based on the popular Quran recitation style in Morocco.



 



The  reciters competing in Tajweed category should be the memorizers of at least 5 Juzes (parts) of the Quran.



 



In the memorization category, the participants compete on the memorization of the entire Quran along with the observation of Quran reading principles.
