Draw Conducted to Determine Reciters’ Turn at Turkey’s Int’l Quran Contest
Based on the draw, Habib Sedaqat, Iran’s representative in the recitation category, will demonstrate his Quran recitation talents on Wednesday.
Iran also has a representative in the memorization of the entire Quran category, Abuzar Karami.
This is Turkey’s first international Quran competition. It started in Istanbul on Sunday and will run until Friday, July 10.
10 Quran experts from 6countries (Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Algeria, Sudan and Indonesia) form the arbitration committee of the event.
The Quran competition is being held on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan. Many Muslim countries organize Quran competitions in the holy month every year.
Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic Hijri calendar. This year, it began on Thursday, June 18.
