Nat’l Quran Contest for Students to Wrap up in Southern Iranian City

SHIRAZ (IQNA) – The 33rd edition of the national Holy Quran competition for school students will conclude in Shiraz, south of Iran on Saturday,

Winners of the Quranic event will be announced and awarded at the ceremony today, IQNA’s correspondent in the city reported.


The top five contestants in each category are going to be honored at the function.


The 33rd students Quran competition started on July 24 in two sections, one for boys and the other for girls.


2300 school students from all provinces of the country competed in different categories of the Quranic event for 8 days.


They had made it to the final round after winning the top titles in the preliminary stages.


The categories of this year’s competition included Quran recitation, memorization, interpretation as well as Nahjul-Balaqa, Sahifeh Sajjadiye and prayers.
