Iran to Send Reciter, Memorizer to Indonesia Int’l Quran Contest

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iran will have two representatives in the upcoming international Quran competition in Indonesia.

Mahmoud Noruzi and Javad Soleimani will represent the Islamic Republic in the memorization of the entire Quran and recitation categories of the contest, respectively.

The Southeast Asian country’s international Quranic event is slated to be held in the capital Jakarta from August 30 to September 5, Fars news agency reported.

Mahmoud Noruzi from Tehran has previously won the third title in Tunisia’s international Quran competition.

Javad Soleimani is a top Qari from Iran’s northeastern province of Khorasan Razavi.

He came fifth in the country’s national Quran competition last year.
