According to Al-Raya newspaper, the course has been planned by the Quranic Sciences Section affiliated to the Office for Dissemination and Religious Guidance of Qatar’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.
It has been organized in 11 Quran teaching centers of the country with the participation of 600 Quran activists.
Ma’adh Al-Qasemi, the head of the education branch of the ministry, said this part of the ministry revises and develops its program every year with the aim of attracting more Quran students.
Raising a generation familiar with Quranic teachings, promoting Quranic principles and helping the students form a deeper connection with the Divine Book are the main objectives of the course.
,Sheikh Zaki Umar Bahbare, a member of the section said that the organizers of the course also plan to promote the participants’ skills in Quran memorization and prepare them for Quran competitions.
“Al-Imam Al-Shatibi, Al-Imam Nafi’, Al-Douri, Al-Zubair bin Al-‘Awam, Al-Furqan, Hamzah bin Abdul Muttalib, ‘Asim bin Abi Al-Nujud, Abd Al-Rahman bin Jasim, Abdul Aziz bin Jasim, Abdullah bin Abbas, and Ka’b bin Malik” are the Quranic centers hosting the first edition of the course.
