Iranian Winners of Indonesia Int’l Quran Contest Return Home
Mahmoud Noruzi and Javad Soleimani as well as Iranian Quran master Abdul Rasul Abayi arrived in Tehran on Sunday morning, September 6.
They were recived by a number of Quranic officials at Imam Khomeini International Airport.
Noruzi bagged the first prize in the memorization of the entire Quran category of the international contest and Soleimani came third in recitation.
Master Abayi served as a member of the competition’s panel of judges.
The international Quranic event was held in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta on September 1-3.
Quran memorizers and Qaris from 21 countries, including Thailand, Iran, Morocco, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Tunisia, Britain, the US, France, Jordan and Belgium took part in the contest.
