TEHRAN (IQNA) – With the bodies of 104 Iranians killed in the recent crush in Mina, Saudi Arabia, arriving in the country, an official repatriation ceremony is planned to be held at Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport later this morning

Senior officials including heads of the three branches of power, namely President Hassan Rouhani, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani and Judiciary Chief Sadeq Amoli Larijani will be attending the service.

The flight carrying the bodies landed at Mehrabad Airport at 11 P.M. last night.

The same number of bodies of Iranians killed in the tragic incident will be returned to the country tonight.

In a Friday statement, Iran’s cabinet called on people to participate in the funeral ceremonies due to be held for the victims across the country on Sunday.

The crush in Mina, near the holy city of Makkah, occurred on September 24 after two large masses of pilgrims fused together.

While Riyadh claims nearly 770 people were killed in the calamity, Iranian officials have said about 4,700 people, including 464 Iranians, lost their lives in the tragedy.
