TEHRAN (IQNA) – Tunisia’s grand Mufti underlined the need for Muslim scholars to play their role in strengthening Islamic unity.

Speaking in a meeting with Mohammad Assadi Movahed, the Iranian Cultural Attaché in Tunis, Sheikh Hamda Said also condemned the silence of certain Muslim countries over the Zionist regime atrocities in Palestine.

He further lauded the policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the international arena, saying that Muslims and the Islamic world’s scholars are proud of these policies.

He also commended the Iranian nation’s amazing accomplishments and advances in different fields.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Sheikh Said described terrorist groups like ISIL as being more dangerous than cancer for the Muslim world, stressing that these Takfiri groups are serving the Zionist regime of Israel.

Iran’s cultural attaché, for his part, stressed the role of Muslim scholars in the current juncture, saying they should help to enhance unity in order to foil the plots hatched by the enemies.
