It was organized by the eastern Caribbean country’s Muslims Association in cooperation with the World Association of Quran Memorization, hqmi.org reported.
The contenders competed in the categories of memorization of 10, 5 and 3 Juzes (parts) of the Quran.
Abdul Muhammad, head of the Barbados Muslims Association and a number of scholars and thinkers as well as those interested in Quranic activities took part in the closing ceremony.
Speakers at the ceremony highlighted the need for learning the Quran and acting upon its sublime teachings.
Barbados is an island country situated in the western area of the North Atlantic.
There are a few thousand Muslims living in the country making up about 2 percent of the population.
Most of them are immigrants or descendants of immigrants from the Indian state of Gujarat.
